I recently had the pleasure of spending a relaxed Sunday morning with the Miller family in their beautiful home. The goal of a lifestyle session like this isn’t posed perfection, but capturing the real, authentic chaos and love of family life.
We started with pancake making in the kitchen, capturing genuine laughter and flour-dusted noses. The soft natural light coming through their living room windows was perfect for these intimate moments. I love these sessions because they allow children to be themselves, resulting in images that truly reflect the family’s dynamic.
Highlights of the session:
- Authentic moments: The “in-between” moments, like the kids wrestling on the floor or a quiet hug, often become the family’s favorite photos.
- Favorite spots: We made sure to capture photos in their favorite reading nook and their backyard, making the images personal to their home.
- Outfit tips: They chose simple, comfortable outfits that coordinated without being “matchy-matchy,” which works perfectly for a relaxed home setting.
